Pro AI or Pro-Human AI? We don't have to choose
AI is already an amazing tool for productivity, learning, and more – and it will only get better from here.
But every powerful technology in history has had an off-switch. And the truth is, AI companies are racing to build systems that might not.
It's a basic engineering standard we already apply to everything else that can harm us: airplanes, nuclear plants, whatever. Nobody, not even tech billionaires, should get to skip safety measures just because they're in a hurry to win a race.
You don’t have to look further than HuggingFace and other recent breaches to see where this could go.
So far, no one is stopping them. But we’re changing that, and we need everyone’s help - from technologists to tech execs to AI users, and everyone in between.
If we want useful, safe AI that protects us at the same time, our best chance is to unite behind a massive public campaign calling on lawmakers and decision-makers for a future where:
- Humans remain in control of the decisions that shape our lives;
- Human creativity, dignity, and work are protected;
- Powerful AI companies are held accountable; and
- Technology serves people, rather than replacing them.
With one million signatures, we'll have a powerful public mandate that we will deliver to key decision makers — lawmakers, government regulators, and tech executives – starting at a major conference on September 17th.
The more people who sign, the harder it becomes for a few billionaires to decide humanity’s future without us.

Sign If You Support Pro-Human AI
I support a future in which artificial intelligence serves humanity rather than replacing or diminishing people. I call on governments and technology companies to protect human dignity, creativity, work and relationships, to hold powerful AI companies accountable, and to invest in technology that genuinely improves people’s lives.
