Tell lawmakers: Protect kids’ critical thinking skills
Back in the day, if we wanted to cheat our way through school, it took real effort. Sometimes even a bribe. Now, all kids need is a computer and internet connection and companies like OpenAI and Anthropic will take care of the rest.
And what’s worse: the information that comes back through these chatbots isn’t even guaranteed to be accurate! So kids are losing their ability to think for themselves AND they’re getting bad information in the process.
Now researchers are warning that over-reliance on chatbots is actually making us dumber. What’s to happen in 30 years when younger generations that are depending on chatbots now are then in charge of public policy, diplomacy, healthcare, and our judicial systems?
The race to replace humans is happening at breakneck speed and every week that passes we lose more critical thinking skills to the chatbot frenzy. All while a handful of tech billionaires like Elon Musk and Sam Altman become more rich and powerful from it.
Our best chance now to protect critical thinking and make sure AI serves all of humanity is to unite behind a massive public mandate calling on lawmakers and decision-makers for a future where:
- Humans remain in control of the decisions that shape our lives;
- Human creativity, dignity, and work are protected;
- Powerful AI companies are held accountable; and
- Technology serves people, rather than replacing them.
With one million signatures, we'll have a powerful public mandate that we will deliver to key decision makers — lawmakers, government regulators, and tech executives.
The more people who sign, the harder it becomes for a few billionaires to decide humanity’s future without us.

Sign if you agree: Protect kids’ critical thinking skills
I support a future in which artificial intelligence serves humanity rather than replace kids’ abilities to think critically.
