Billionaires like Elon Musk and Sam Altman are racing to see who can conquer AI first – at all costs.
They're treating the entire world as a laboratory, and we are their test subjects.
But AI was built on our collective human knowledge and creativity. It should enrich humanity, not wipe us out.
That's why a group of AI experts, technologists, artists, parents, workers, faith leaders and scholars have put together what they're calling the Pro-Human AI Declaration, a strong demand to decision-makers that we the people be at the centre of AI development -- not just billionaires like Musk and Altman.
They've asked us to help make this the largest public campaign on AI in history. And when we do, they'll deliver our statement to policymakers and company executives around the world, giving brave lawmakers a political mandate to pass laws that protect humanity from runaway AI.
Add your name to the declaration: put humanity first, stop the race to replace
Artificial Intelligence is reshaping every issue we care about. It’s being used to spy on our every waking moment, addict our children, and fill our media with slop and propaganda. All while increasing our energy and healthcare bills. It’s being deployed everywhere from hospitals to conflict zones – and instead of enhancing human dignity and potential, it’s risking everything we hold dear just to make the rich even more filthy rich.
We've already witnessed the consequences of leaving Big Tech to regulate itself: democracies shaken by industrial-scale disinformation, societies divided by algorithmically driven hate, our privacy violated, and our children experimented on. The race to replace humanity is on.
It’s no wonder that many people say they’re simply “anti-AI”. But there is a better path – where trustworthy and controllable AI tools amplify rather than diminish human potential, empower people, enhance human dignity, protect individual liberty, strengthen families and communities, preserve self-governance and help create unprecedented health and widespread prosperity.
But this will only happen if people everywhere demand it. That’s where we come in.
